(please note that Wall-E may not talk back much, but he will still make an effort to respond to any messages that he is sent)
[you may also use this post to continue threads from any posts that hit recaptcha as well!]
...also because I'm too lazy to make a separate post for this, but here's a list of notable things wall-e has collected:
several pieces of silverware and cutlery (forks, spoons, knives, egg-beater, etc.)
part of a hubcap he found in the garbage (thanks to Wheatley)
a malfunctioning curling iron (courtesy of Shiho)
a knitted hat (courtesy of Leia)
a red ballpit ball (courtesy of Dipper)
some empty boxes and ink bottles (courtesy of Edgeworth)
several (trying really hard to prevent them from wilting) flowers

voice;
He coughs once to cover up the pause and then continues.]
Hey, you collect stuff, right? Can I ask you to collect stuff for me? I'll pay you.
[...somehow. What do robots even want??]
voice;
Oh? [Despite the fact that he can't actually be seen right now, he tilts his head at the phone, considering. After a moment of silence, he speaks up again.]
S... sssstuff? [It might be hard to tell, but it's said in a questioning tone: what kind of stuff are you looking for? Is it something in particular?]
Re: voice;
It takes him a bit to realize that last thing was a question. Talking to robots is difficult when you're not even used to telephones or any modern tech in the first place.]
Do you mean what kinda stuff? [He hopes that's what he means.] Uh, steel. Any high grade steel we-- [UGH he doesn't want to admit he's doing this to be nice.] I can use for repairs. You ever find any high grade steel here?
voice;
Uh-huh! [He's not sure if what he found would be considered high grade, but there's no harm in Dotanuki taking a look at it for himself, right?]
voice;
[Because it isn't fair for him to receive and not give anything in return, but he can't completely contain how pleased he is to hear that Wall-E both has the supplies and might be amenable to parting with them.]
voice;
[Wall-E's still barely getting used to the concept of money and getting paid for your services here, so he's honestly not sure what he should be asking for as payment.]
voice;
[Look, he feels you on the money thing. He's a war sword, not a merchant sword. He has no idea what money is good for, but he knows that services are usually paid with something? Rice? Gold? Something...people want???]
voice;
...Sssstuff?
[That's what you referred to the things he collected. He likes those... does that count as an answer?]
voice;
[He has to think for a second until he remembers all those things Wall-E was carting about.]
Like the stuff in your can? Stuff from the human world?
